200 Tons of Beer Consumed at Guangzhou’s Beer Festival
The annual 10-day beer festival ended on August 25 after nearly 100,000 beer amateurs walked – or stumbled – around the booths open every evening. Sponsored by the government, this year’s festival generated nearly one million RMB (146, 382 USD) in revenue and saw 8 German brands make the trip to Guangzhou.
A variety of beers were on sale, from the darkest and richest German beer to a nice and light Qingtao. About 200 tons of beer was consumed which amounts to only 3 bottles per person. So what kept people from drinking this year? It was definitely not the beautiful beer girls who heated up the atmosphere faster than the fridges could chill the 300,000 bottles consumed.
